Nike Air Jordan V (5's)
In 1990 the Air Jordan V's hit the market and they were even more advanced and smartly designed than ever. The Air Jordan 5 came out during one of the best seasons that the Chicago bulls ever had and Michael Jordan got a slew of awards for his amazing basketball talents on the court, and of course wearing the Air Jordan 5 was a huge boost to the Nike brand.
The Air Jordan 5 was based on a World War 2 fighter plane, and this explains the shark teeth on part of the sole of the shoe. These shoes had great traction control and integrated lace locks into the design.
The AJ 5 was also a first for Nike in that no other shoe manufacturer had ever tried molding the shoe foam into the upper part of the shoe. When the AJ5's first came out they sold for $125 and one of the most popular colorways was the red and white, with the red flames appearing on the bottoms of these kicks.
